Pedagogy Ventures LLC (“Pedagogy Ventures”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, and disclose information in connection with our Socrat software-as-a-service (“SAAS”) product, which is designed to work with schools, young students, and educational AI technology.

4. Incident Plan
In the event of a data incident, we will take the following steps:

- We will take steps to mitigate the harm caused by the incident, such as by blocking unauthorized access to the affected systems.
- We will notify affected users in a timely manner and provide information about the incident and steps that users can take to protect themselves.
5. Data Retention
We provide users with access to their personal information and the ability to correct or update such information as necessary. You may access and update your information by logging into your account or by contacting us at privacy@socrat.ai. We will make reasonable efforts to respond to your request in a timely manner.
We will retain your information for as long as necessary to provide and improve Socrat, to comply with our legal obligations, or to enforce our Terms of Service. We may also retain and use your information to resolve disputes and to enforce our agreements.
If you would like to delete your account, please contact us at delete@socrat.ai. We will make reasonable efforts to delete your information in a timely manner, except as required by law or as necessary to protect our rights or interests.
6. Minors and Children
Socrat is designed to work with schools, young students, and educational AI technology, and we take the privacy and security of minors and children very seriously. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without prior parental consent. Parents or legal guardians of children under 13 should review this Policy carefully before allowing their children to use Socrat.
7. Security
We implement reasonable measures to protect the security of your information, including physical, technical, and administrative safeguards. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the practices of such third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information to them.
8. Your Choices
You may choose not to provide certain information to us, but doing so may limit your ability to use certain features of Socrat. You may also opt-out of certain communications from us by following the unsubscribe instructions in those communications.

11. International Users
Socrat is hosted in the United States and is intended for use by users in the United States. If you are accessing Socrat from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located and our central database is operated. By using Socrat, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States, which may provide a different level of data protection than your home country.
12. Your California Privacy Rights
Under California law, California residents may request certain information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year. To make such a request, please contact us at privacy@socrat.ai.
13. Governing Law
This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law provision or rule.
